SIAM Holds 10th Inter-School Road Safety Competition in Delhi
Over 1,500 students from 52 schools took part in the event.
The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) recently organized its 10th inter-school competition focused on road safety, aimed at promoting safe mobility practices among students. Held from October 25 to October 28 at Gyan Mandir Public School in Naraina Vihar, New Delhi, the event is part of SIAM's ongoing ‘Surakshit Safar’ or ‘Safe Journey’ initiative.
The annual competition provided a platform for students to creatively engage with road safety themes, participating in 23 activities including e-poster mking, jingle creation, logo designing, presentations, brochure designing, short film making, and photography. Students explored themes of responsibility and the importance of safety on the road, examining how safe practices impact families, communities, and society.
Over 1,500 students from 52 schools took part in the event, displaying their knowledge and creativity through various competitions. Each entry was evaluated by a panel of academic experts.
Mr. Prashant K Banerjee, Executive Director of SIAM said teaching the importance of road safety to young minds is crucial in cultivating a culture of responsibility and awareness on roads. “Road safety is a collective responsibility, and SIAM’s initiative emphasizes interactive learning to help students embrace key safety principles,” he saod.
He added that SIAM’s longstanding partnership with Yamaha Motor India, Rosmerta Technologies, and Gyan Mandir Public School has been invaluable in driving this mission forward. The enthusiasm displayed by students this year strengthens our commitment to organizing such events and promoting the message of ‘Safe Mobility’ nationwide.
