SheerDrive has been named first runner-up in the 10th cohort of the Maruti Suzuki Accelerator Programme, securing a paid proof-of-concept (PoC) engagement with the automaker as part of the initiative.

The programme brings together startups developing technology-led solutions across areas including manufacturing, mobility, customer experience and automotive operations. SheerDrive participated with its AI-based pricing infrastructure aimed at improving pricing transparency in the pre-owned vehicle market.

The company says India's used-car ecosystem continues to face challenges in price discovery, with vehicle values often varying across regions and channels. Its platform is designed to combine live market signals, historical transaction data, vehicle condition inputs and AI-driven analytics to create a real-time pricing layer for different stakeholders.

The system is intended for use by OEMs, dealerships, financial institutions and consumers, to enable more standardised and data-driven pricing decisions across the used-vehicle market.

Commenting on the development, Ravi Mehra, Founder of SheerDrive, said, “Price discovery remains one of the most critical unsolved problems in the used-car ecosystem. We’ve always believed that the future of vehicle upgrades in India will depend on transparent, data-backed pricing and scientific vehicle evaluation.”

SheerDrive currently operates a range of products focused on digitising the pre-owned vehicle ecosystem, including vehicle evaluation platforms, auction aggregation infrastructure and B2B used-vehicle marketplaces. Founded in 2020, the company works with OEMs, dealerships, financial institutions, insurers and other organised automotive players.
