Sharda Motor to Begin Commercial Production at New Chakan Plant from June 23
Sharda Motor Industries Limited has secured the Factory License for its new manufacturing facility in Chakan, Maharashtra, and will officially commence commercial operations at the plant starting June 23, 2025.
Sharda Motor Industries Limited (SMIL) has announced that its new manufacturing plant in Chakan, Maharashtra, will begin commercial production from June 23, 2025. The development follows the receipt of the Factory License from the Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health, Government of Maharashtra, on June 20.
This update, communicated in a regulatory filing to both the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange, is in continuation of an earlier announcement made in May 2024. The Chakan facility marks a significant step in the company's expansion strategy aimed at enhancing its production capabilities.
The company stated that all statutory approvals are now in place for the facility to begin operations. The plant is expected to support the company’s ongoing growth and contribute to meeting customer requirements across its automotive components business.
The intimation was submitted by Iti Goyal, Assistant Company Secretary and Compliance Officer at SMIL, in accordance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements.
