SemiX hosts first Annual SemiX Summit from November 27-29, 2023

The summit aims to foster collaboration, innovation, and growth in the semiconductor industry in India.

SemiX, the Centre for Semiconductor Technologies at IIT Bombay, has launched its first Annual SemiX Summit, taking place from November 27 to 29, 2023. This summit serves as a collaborative platform for semiconductor industry-focused research and development, workforce development, and entrepreneurship, bringing together various stakeholders, including academic disciplines, industry players, entrepreneurs, investors, and government policymakers. Key industry affiliates, such as Applied Materials, Synopsys, Texas Instruments, and others, have joined the initiative.

Under the theme "Inventing Our Semiconductor Future Together," the summit offers an immersive experience with keynote addresses, plenary sessions, and three tracks: Research, Workforce Development, and Entrepreneurship.

The Research track encompasses sub-tracks on Memory Devices and Circuits, Logic Technologies, Analog & Mixed Signal Design, Flexible Electronics & Sensors, and Power & Electrostatic Discharge. The Workforce Development track focuses on IC Design and Test, Fab Technology, and Packaging.

The Entrepreneurship track includes discussions on the state of the semiconductor industry, a pitch fest featuring Indian semiconductor startups, and a workshop addressing challenges faced by these startups in collaboration with investors and industry partners.

Chief Guest, S. Krishnan, Secretary, Minister of Electronics & Information Technology, expressed excitement about the collaboration between academia, industry, and government at SemiX, emphasising its importance.

With over 350 attendees from nearly 67 companies, 10 venture capital firms, and 15 academic institutions, the summit aims to foster collaboration, innovation, and growth in the semiconductor industry in India.
