Schwing Stetter India and Qucev Technologies have launched India's first battery electric transit concrete mixer at EXCON 2025 in Bengaluru, marking a significant step toward sustainable construction equipment in the country.
The 7m³ electric transit mixer, unveiled on December 9, features a 192.5 kWh battery pack with dual CCS2 DC fast charging capability that enables a full charge in one hour. The vehicle is powered by BYD's Super Safe LFP Blade Battery technology, designed for enhanced safety and thermal stability.
The mixer's drum motor delivers 20 kW maximum rated power and 130 Nm maximum rated torque, according to the manufacturers. The vehicle also includes a redesigned cabin aimed at improving operator comfort and visibility during extended operations.
N.K. Rawal, MD & CEO of Qucev Technologies, stated that the launch represents the companies' commitment to advancing sustainable construction mobility in India. V.G. Sakthi Kumar, Managing Director of Schwing Stetter India, emphasized the company's focus on introducing electric equipment to the construction sector.
The electric mixer is positioned to reduce operating expenses and environmental impact compared to conventional diesel-powered units, though specific cost savings figures were not disclosed.
Schwing Stetter India, established in 1998 as a subsidiary of German manufacturer Schwing GmbH, produces concrete batching plants, pumps, and transportation equipment. Qucev Technologies specializes in heavy-duty electric trucks and light commercial electric vehicles, with a product range that includes 3.5-ton electric light commercial vehicles and 55-ton electric tractors.
The launch comes as India's construction industry faces increasing pressure to adopt cleaner technologies amid growing infrastructure development nationwide.
