Schaeffler AG is evaluating options to monetise a minor portion of its shareholding in Schaeffler India.

In a formal regulatory communication submitted to Indian stock exchanges, Schaeffler India disclosed that its promoter group entities—Schaeffler Schweinfurt Beteiligungs GmbH, Schaeffler Bühl Verwaltungs GmbH, Schaeffler Verwaltungsholding Sechs GmbH, and Industriewerk Schaeffler INA-Ingenieurdienst GmbH—are reviewing their equity holdings in the domestic unit. The promoter group currently holds a combined 74.13 percent stake in the paid-up share capital of Schaeffler India.

The promoter group affirmed its intent to remain the controlling shareholder in the company, clarifying that any potential divestment would preserve its dominant shareholding position.

"The Promoter Group continues to review its shareholding in the Company and may consider monetizing a small part of the same," Schaeffler AG noted in its communication to the board of directors of Schaeffler India. "The Promoter Group expresses its strong intention to continue as the significant majority shareholder block of the Company, representing at least two-thirds of the Company's shares outstanding."
