Eicher Motors-owned Royal Enfield continued to report a decline in its monthly sales as it posted an 8% drop in its July wholesales on a year-on-year basis. The automaker witnessed weakness in the sales of motorcycles with engine capacity up to 350 cc.
The two-wheeler maker sold a total of 67,265 units, compared with 73,117 units in July 2023, the company said. Both domestic and international markets declined during the month.
Sales of models with engine capacity up to 350cc fell 12% to 56,590 units, while sales of models with engine capacity exceeding 350 cc rose 22% to 10,675 units. International sales dropped 14% to 6,057 units.
Royal Enfield’s portfolio includes 11 models – Bullet 350, Classic 350, Hunter 350, Meteor 350, the 411cc-engine powered Scram 411 and Himalayan adventure bikes, the Guerilla 450, the 650cc twins (Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650), the Super Meteor 650 and Shotgun 650.
For June, the automaker reported a decline of 5% in its total sales while its first-quarter sales remained almost flat on a year-on-year basis.
