Royal Enfield sold 1,26,479 motorcycles in August 2026, an 11% increase over the 1,14,002 units sold in the same month last year, according to data filed by parent company Eicher Motors Limited with BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India on September 1, 2026.

Domestic and Export Sales Breakdown

Domestic sales accounted for 1,14,204 units, up 11% from 1,02,876 in August 2025. Exports stood at 12,275 units, a 10% rise from 11,126 units in the corresponding month last year. The August 2025 figure had itself been a record for the company at the time, surpassing the previous all-time monthly high of 1,10,574 units set in October 2024 and representing a 55% jump over August 2024 volumes of 73,629 units. The latest numbers indicate that Royal Enfield has sustained and extended that growth into the current financial year.

FY27 Year-to-Date Sales Performance

On a year-to-date basis — covering April to August of the 2026-27 financial year — total sales reached 5,75,138 units, a 23% increase over 4,67,575 units in the same period of 2025-26. Domestic YTD volumes rose 28% to 5,20,695 units. Exports, however, moved in the opposite direction, declining 9% to 54,443 units from 59,666 units a year earlier, continuing a trend of softer international performance relative to the domestic market.

Sub-350cc Models Drive Growth as 650 Twins Decline

Within the monthly segment breakdown, models with engine capacity up to 350cc — which include the company's core volume drivers such as the Classic 350, Bullet 350, Hunter 350, and Meteor 350, along with electric vehicles — sold 1,13,143 units in August 2026, up 15% from 98,631 units. Models exceeding 350cc, a segment that includes the Super Meteor 650, Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, Himalayan 450, and Guerrilla 450, declined 13% to 13,336 units from 15,371 units in August 2025.

The divergence between the two segments suggests that demand in the premium mid-size bracket, which had been a growth engine for Royal Enfield in recent years, has moderated.

New Launches and Product Updates

During August, the company launched the Classic 350 Gorkha Edition in India and Nepal. The motorcycle is finished in Gorkha Green with a bespoke insignia featuring crossed Khukris, styled as a tribute to the Gorkha regiment. Royal Enfield also introduced a co-branded Gorkha apparel collection alongside the motorcycle.

On the product update front, the Continental GT 650 café racer received a refresh that includes a black-painted instrument cowl, new LED trafficators, a USB Type-C fast charging port, and blacked-out engine, exhaust, and cast alloy wheels on the Rocker Red variant.

The company also provided an update on its electric motorcycle programme. The Flying Flea C6, launched as part of Royal Enfield's city-plus electric mobility brand, has crossed 50,000 customer-driven kilometres in Bengaluru alone since its introduction, according to the company's filing.

Royal Enfield's Community Events and Global Presence

On the community and events front, Royal Enfield hosted its HunterHood urban lifestyle event in Kochi during August — the sixth city to host the event after Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Shillong, and Lucknow. The GRRR Nights × Underground gathering, centred on the Guerrilla 450, was held in Mumbai. The company announced Moto Mongolia 2026, described as its first marquee ride event in the country, scheduled for September 5 to 18. It also announced the sixth edition of its Art of Motorcycling creative platform, themed "Game Mode On," with registrations open until October 21 across an adults' global category and a children's India-only category.

Internationally, Royal Enfield showcased models including the Goan Classic 350, Guerrilla 450 Apex, Himalayan Mana Black, and the Flying Flea C6 at the Festival Interlagos in Brazil, and had a presence at the Brasília Capital Moto Week 2026 with the Classic 650 125th Edition and new Meteor 350 colourways. In Southeast Asia, the company returned to Malaysia's Art of Speed 2026 and introduced the FT450 flat-tracker and the Slide School Cup 2026 in Thailand.
