Royal Enfield May Sales Rise 15% To 1.03 Lakh Units
Domestic volumes grew 24 percent year-on-year in May 2026, while exports declined 33 percent, taking overall motorcycle sales past the one lakh mark.
Royal Enfield reported total motorcycle sales of 1,03,231 units in May 2026, registering a 15 per cent year-on-year increase compared to 89,429 units in the corresponding month last year. Domestic volumes remained the key growth driver, offsetting continued weakness in export markets.
Domestic sales stood at 94,115 units during the month, up 24 per cent from 75,820 units in May 2025. Exports, however, declined 33 per cent year-on-year to 9,116 units from 13,609 units in the same period last year.
On a year-to-date basis, Royal Enfield recorded sales of 2,16,395 motorcycles across April-May FY2027, up 23 per cent from 1,75,988 units during the same period last year. Domestic volumes rose 31 per cent to 1,98,244 units, while exports fell 25 per cent to 18,151 units.
The company also expanded its portfolio during the month with the launch of the Bullet 650, adding another model to its 650cc range. Additionally, Royal Enfield announced plans for a new greenfield manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh, with a proposed investment of around Rs 2,500 crore to support future capacity expansion.
Commenting on the monthly performance, B Govindarajan, Managing Director, Eicher Motors and Chief Executive Officer, Royal Enfield, said, “We are carrying our momentum in FY27 with continued growth in Q1, despite the prevailing macro-headwinds.”
