Routematic Reduces 8,348 Tonnes of CO₂ in 2025 Through AI-Optimised Commutes
The AI-enabled fleet management platform serving over 300 enterprises across India reports significant emissions reductions in major cities, equivalent to planting 375,000 trees or removing 1,800 cars annually.
Routematic, an AI-enabled corporate commute automation and fleet management platform, has announced a reduction of 8,348 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions in 2025 on National Pollution Control Day. The company attributes these results to AI-optimised routing, shared mobility models, and electric vehicle adoption across its operations.
The emissions reductions were distributed across India's major business centers. Delhi-NCR recorded 2,175 tonnes of CO₂ reduction, followed by Hyderabad with 2,007 tonnes, Pune with 1,915 tonnes, and Bengaluru with 1,651 tonnes. Chennai and Mumbai contributed 494 tonnes and 107 tonnes respectively.
Routematic currently manages over 350,000 daily employee rides across IT, financial services, and other enterprise sectors. The company operates in more than 25 cities throughout India, making it one of the country's larger employee transport networks.
The announcement comes as Indian cities continue to face air quality challenges. Transportation accounts for approximately 14 percent of India's CO₂ emissions, with road transport representing about 90 percent of that total.
"Employee commute is one of India's most overlooked contributors to urban air pollution, and it must become a central pillar of the country's pollution-control strategy," said Sriram Kannan, Founder and CEO of Routematic. He noted that the combination of artificial intelligence, electric vehicles, and shared mobility enables corporations to achieve measurable climate impact while maintaining safe and reliable employee commutes.
The sustainability milestone follows Routematic's Series C funding round in May 2025, which raised $40 million from climate-focused investors Fullerton Carbon Action Fund and Shift4Good. The company plans to use the investment to expand its electric vehicle fleet, enhance AI capabilities, and grow its network of 24/7 Operations Command Centres.
Routematic is also working to increase the number of women drivers in its network as part of its driver ecosystem development.
The platform serves more than 300 enterprise clients across various sectors, providing transportation solutions for companies with round-the-clock employee shifts. The company's services span corporate mobility technology, transport-as-a-service, and fleet operations management.
