Rolls-Royce Spectre Series II Expected in India in 2026
The British ultra-luxury carmaker expects its updated electric coupe to arrive in India this year, with younger customers showing interest in electric propulsion as the brand reports continued growth in the market.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars expects the Spectre Series II to arrive in India before the end of 2026, as the British ultra-luxury carmaker continues to develop its electric vehicle portfolio. The expected introduction comes amid growing demand from a younger generation of wealthy Indian entrepreneurs, who are emerging as an important customer base for the brand. The company has not disclosed pricing or detailed specifications for the upcoming model.
Julian Jenkins indicated that the Spectre Series II was expected to reach India this year. He said the existing Spectre had performed strongly globally, becoming Rolls-Royce’s second best-selling model in 2025. The electric coupe has continued to attract customers in 2026, particularly those seeking the traditional characteristics of a Rolls-Royce in an electric vehicle.
“With luxury, it is all about choice. We have the finest V12 and we now have an electric powertrain,” Jenkins said. He explained that electric propulsion suited the characteristics associated with Rolls-Royce, including silence, instant torque and ride comfort. Some customers were choosing to own both V12-powered and electric models rather than treating the two powertrains as alternatives.
“It’s a Rolls-Royce first and an electric second,” Jenkins said, describing how customers approached the Spectre. He also highlighted the Black Badge Spectre as the most powerful Rolls-Royce produced by the company. The model forms part of the carmaker’s efforts to offer customers a choice between conventional and electric powertrains.
The expected arrival of Spectre Series II comes as Rolls-Royce assesses the implications of the India-UK Free Trade Agreement. Jenkins said the company was still examining the agreement’s impact on its business, including the potential implications for vehicle pricing. He did not indicate whether changes in import duties would result in revised prices for its models in India.
India has recorded double-digit growth for Rolls-Royce over the past four years, supported by wealth creation among entrepreneurs and business owners. Jenkins expects demand to continue growing, although the company remains focused on the value of individual commissions rather than increasing sales volumes. Younger Indian customers are also showing greater interest in personalised vehicles that reflect their achievements and cultural identities.
Rolls-Royce currently operates dealerships in Delhi and Chennai, supported by authorised workshops in Mumbai and Hyderabad. Jenkins said its existing retail partners were meeting customer requirements, although further expansion would depend on demand. The company also serves Indian customers through its international network, reflecting the global ownership patterns of its clientele.
