Rimac Group announced on Wednesday that it has appointed Matthias Wich as the group's new Chief Financial Officer, effective September 2026. Wich, who has served as the company's Chief Strategy and Investments Officer for over four years, succeeds outgoing CFO Peter Bednarik.
Wich carries more than 16 years of experience across corporate finance and strategy. In his new capacity, Wich will manage the group's financial strategy as it scales development and production across its operating entities. During his time heading strategy at Rimac, Wich managed group capitalization rounds, corporate restructuring, portfolio management, M&A operations, and talks concerning Porsche's stake transactions in Bugatti Rimac and the parent holding entity.
Rimac Group is the majority stakeholder in Bugatti Rimac and the sole owner of Rimac Technology and Rimac Energy. Key commercial programs under the group umbrella include the Bugatti Tourbillon hypercar and the Rimac Nevera lineup.
Mate Rimac, Founder and President of the Rimac Group, said, “Matthias has been a key part of the Rimac Group, helping shape our financial and strategic direction at every important step. He knows the business deeply and he has earned the trust of our team and our investors. Appointing him as CFO of the Rimac Group gives us continuity and strength as we continue to grow.”
Wich commented on his appointment, saying, “It’s a privilege to take on the role of CFO of the Rimac Group. I’m excited to continue working with colleagues across the Group as we enter the next stage of our journey together.”
