Renault India has initiated its international export program for the Duster. The company commenced operations with an initial shipment of 750 vehicles departing from the Chennai port bound for South Africa. Executive leadership indicated that this initial volume marks the first phase of a broader export strategy, with shipments to additional international markets scheduled to begin in the coming months.
The export initiative aligns with the carmaker's long-term industrial strategy, which aims to establish India as a primary manufacturing and engineering hub for global markets. According to company projections, Renault Group is working toward generating 2 billion euros in annual export revenue from its Indian operations by the year 2030.
The newly launched Duster represents the first vehicle in Renault’s domestic portfolio to be constructed on the Renault Group Modular Platform. This flexible architecture is engineered to accommodate multiple powertrain variants. Vehicles for both domestic and international distribution are produced at the company's manufacturing plant in Oragadam, Chennai, which maintains an annual production capacity of 480,000 units.
