Remsons Industries reported a 17.2% year-on-year increase in consolidated revenue from operations to ₹135.47 crore in Q2 FY27, compared with ₹115.59 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. However, total expenses increased at a faster rate of 20.1% to ₹130.04 crore, putting pressure on profitability.

Consolidated profit before tax declined 22.4% to ₹6.35 crore from ₹8.18 crore in Q2 FY26. Despite the decline in pre-tax earnings, reported net profit for the quarter rose to ₹4.74 crore from ₹1.06 crore a year earlier.

The increase in reported net profit was largely influenced by changes in the share of minority interest and joint venture results. Before accounting for these contributions, consolidated net profit stood at ₹4.63 crore, down from ₹6.39 crore in the year-ago quarter. This indicates that the higher reported net profit did not reflect an improvement in underlying profitability.

The increase in expenses was led by higher material consumption, which rose to ₹70.68 crore from ₹59.97 crore. Employee benefit expenses increased to ₹24.78 crore from ₹24.02 crore, while finance costs rose to ₹2.41 crore from ₹2.12 crore. Depreciation and amortisation expenses also increased to ₹4.41 crore from ₹3.89 crore.

Standalone Performance

On a standalone basis, revenue from operations increased 24.4% year on year to ₹105.57 crore in Q2 FY27, compared with ₹84.88 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

However, standalone total expenses rose 26.7% to ₹100.02 crore. Profit before tax increased to ₹6.71 crore from ₹3.72 crore, while net profit declined 32.7% to ₹1.86 crore from ₹2.76 crore.

The decline in standalone net profit came despite higher pre-tax earnings, as total tax expenses increased to ₹1.85 crore from ₹0.96 crore in the year-ago quarter.

For the first half of FY27, consolidated revenue from operations increased 18.6% to ₹255.19 crore from ₹215.22 crore. Consolidated profit before tax, however, declined 5.3% to ₹10.64 crore, while net profit fell marginally to ₹1.62 crore from ₹1.70 crore.

Manufacturing Disruptions and Insurance Claims

In its results filing, Remsons said operations at certain manufacturing facilities in Daman and Pardi, Gujarat, were temporarily disrupted during the quarter due to heavy rainfall, flooding and severe waterlogging.

The company said it had taken steps to restore operations and initiated insurance claims for the losses and damages incurred. The insurance claim relating to the Daman plant has been settled, with a difference of ₹7.35 lakh reported as an exceptional item during the quarter. The claim assessment and settlement process for Pardi was still in progress.

Remsons Exits Aircom Remsons Joint Venture

Separately, Remsons' board approved the sale of the company's investment and its exit from the joint venture arrangement in Aircom Remsons Automotive Private Limited at a meeting held on October 1, 2026.

Following completion of the transaction, the existing joint venture arrangement between Remsons and Aircom Group AG and/or its subsidiary will stand terminated in accordance with the relevant agreement. The results filing does not disclose the transaction value.

Management Changes and Board Update

The company also reported changes in its senior management and board composition.

Rahul Prabhakar Desai was appointed Chief Executive Officer with effect from August 3, 2026. His appointment followed the resignation of former Group Chief Executive Officer Amit Srivastava, whose departure took effect from September 4, 2026.

Separately, Whole-time Director Rahul Kejriwal passed away on October 6, 2026. The board subsequently approved the appointment of Shirani Kejriwal as an additional director, designated as Whole-time Director, for a five-year term effective October 16, 2026, subject to shareholder approval.

The company also disclosed the financial impact of the four Labour Codes notified by the government in November 2025. It had recognised incremental employee benefit obligations of ₹84.22 lakh in its consolidated financial results and ₹72.92 lakh in its standalone results for FY26 as exceptional items. The company said it would continue monitoring regulatory developments and assess any further accounting implications.

Remsons Industries operates in the automotive components segment, which the company identifies as its single primary business segment.
