redBus Launches NOVA, India's First Integrated B2B Marketplace for Bus Industry

India's largest online bus ticketing platform redBus has launched NOVA, a business-to-business marketplace designed to modernize the country's intercity bus ecosystem. The platform, announced on January 6, 2025, connects more than 6,000 bus operators with verified vendors across India.

NOVA serves as an integrated marketplace where bus owners can access products and services ranging from safety equipment to operational efficiency tools. The platform offers discounts between 20 and 40 percent on various products, including CCTV cameras, alcohol testing meters, driver monitoring systems, and fuel additives that claim to provide 5 percent fuel savings.

The marketplace integrates with redPro, redBus's cloud-based analytics platform, allowing business owners to purchase products and view related dashboards and insights in a single location. This integration aims to help operators make data-driven decisions about their fleet management and passenger services.

Prakash Sangam, CEO of redBus, said the platform addresses longstanding challenges in procurement, reliability, and product discoverability for bus operators. He noted that NOVA also provides smaller businesses and startups with access to a pan-Indian customer base of intercity bus operators.

During its pilot phase, more than 100 operators placed at least one order through NOVA. The platform is designed to tackle industry issues including fragmented sourcing, inconsistent product quality, and delayed vendor payments through an integrated settlement framework.

India's intercity bus market is currently estimated at ₹47,443 crores, supported by the world's second-largest road network. The launch represents a strategic expansion of redBus's B2B portfolio beyond its core ticketing services.

redBus, founded in 2006, operates across multiple countries including India, Singapore, Malaysia, Peru, Colombia, Indonesia, Cambodia, and Vietnam. The company has sold over 466 million bus tickets globally and maintains a customer base of approximately 52 million users. It is part of the MakeMyTrip group, listed on Nasdaq under the symbol MMYT.
