Range-X, the battery manufacturing arm of Kinetic India, produced its first Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery from its Ahilya Nagar facility on September 25, 2025. The AIS 156 certified battery will power the Kinetic DX EV, marking a significant step in India's electric vehicle manufacturing sector.

The LFP batteries feature a smart Battery Management System (BMS) and offer 2,000-3,000 charge cycles with superior thermal stability. The batteries are manufactured using stable lithium-ion cell chemistry designed for safety, durability, and sustainability.

The production takes place at a fully automated, IoT-enabled facility equipped with POKE-YOKE systems and stage-wise quality inspections. The batteries will initially power the Kinetic DX EV before expanding to other two- and three-wheeler electric vehicles.

"These first batteries rolling off our production line represent more than just a milestone for Range-X, they signify the backbone of the Kinetic DX EV and the next wave of clean mobility in India. With AIS 156 certification, Range-X delivers on its promise of combining durability, safety, and sustainability in every battery we produce," said Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman, Kinetic India.

Range-X aims to serve the growing demand for electric two- and three-wheelers in India with these eco-conscious battery solutions.

Kinetic Engineering Limited, the parent company, has five decades of manufacturing experience and operates from Ahilya Nagar with 1,000 employees, 32 manufacturing sheds, and over 400 machines. The company's products are IATF 16949 certified, and its stock is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange under code 500240.
