Range Rover has unveiled the SV Masāra Edition in India, priced at ₹4.99 crore (ex-showroom), as part of its strategy to target the ultra-luxury vehicle segment. The company announced the launch on Saturday, positioning the model as a limited production vehicle with only 12 units available globally.
The vehicle draws its name from Sanskrit, reflecting the company's attempt to connect with Indian cultural elements. The design takes inspiration from Himalayan blue sapphires, featuring a deep satin blue exterior finish that is exclusive to this edition. The color scheme extends to the roof and mirror caps, while the vehicle comes equipped with 23-inch diamond-turned wheels.
Jaguar Land Rover India Managing Director Rajan Amba stated that the ultra-luxury segment continues to generate strong response from Indian customers. The company has positioned this launch as part of its commitment to offer exclusive vehicles to discerning clients in the market.
The interior combines Liberty Blue leather with Perlino leather, incorporating chrome accents and white ceramic details. The rear passenger area includes fully reclinable seats, a powered table, deployable cupholders, and a refrigerated compartment with etched glassware as part of the SV Signature Suite configuration.
Technical specifications include a 4.4-liter V8 petrol engine producing 452 kW of power and 750 Nm of torque. The vehicle features custom embroidered seats, personalized cushions, and branded tread plates marking each unit as "1 of 12."
This launch follows the earlier introduction of the Range Rover SV Ranthambore Edition, indicating the brand's continued focus on India-specific limited editions. Range Rover, which has operated since 1970, sells vehicles across 121 countries and forms part of the JLR portfolio alongside Defender, Discovery, and Jaguar brands.
The Indian luxury car market has shown growth in recent years, with manufacturers introducing high-end variants to cater to affluent buyers. Range Rover's decision to limit production to 12 units globally suggests a strategy focused on exclusivity rather than volume sales.
The vehicle will be available through Range Rover's existing dealer network in India, with the company expecting delivery timelines to be communicated to customers upon booking.
