Range Rover has confirmed that Range Rover Sport Electric, its second all-electric model, will arrive later this year, extending the brand's push into the luxury electric SUV segment.

The announcement follows the earlier unveiling of the Range Rover Electric, which has been shown at a series of events over the British summer. The Sport variant will retain the model's existing design language, paired with a fully electric powertrain that the company says will deliver stronger performance than previous versions.

Over the weekend, Range Rover presented the Sport Electric prototype at a private event during the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The vehicle was put through a series of driving demonstrations on the Goodwood Motor Circuit, referencing past endurance tests the brand has used to showcase its vehicles, including a stair climb in China and a spillway ascent in Iceland.

According to Range Rover, the new model incorporates updated chassis tuning and sound engineering alongside its electric powertrain, aimed at differentiating its driving character from other models in the range.

Martin Limpert, Managing Director of Range Rover, said the new powertrain option would add to the model's identity, noting that "electric power brings a new edge to Range Rover Sport." He added that the Goodwood preview offered only a partial look at the vehicle ahead of its full debut later in the year.

Once launched, the electric version will complete the Range Rover Sport's powertrain lineup, which currently includes a plug-in hybrid, a mild-hybrid V8 petrol engine, and six-cylinder petrol and diesel options.

Further technical details and pricing for Range Rover Sport Electric are expected to be released later in 2026. Range Rover has said that all models in its lineup are set to be offered as electric hybrids, with fully electric versions across the range planned before 2030.
