Rana Group officially broke ground on its ambitious Erisha Smart Manufacturing Hub project in Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone on September 6, 2025, marking the beginning of what is expected to become one of the region's largest industrial developments.
The ceremony, conducted with traditional Puja rituals, was attended by chief guest Yaser Al Ahmed alongside Rana Group leadership. Chairman and Managing Director Darshan Rana subsequently held discussions with key execution partners, including GHV Infra as EPC contractor, Capital Engineering for design consultation, and several other specialized firms.
The massive development will encompass 15 million square feet of facility space within a total construction area of approximately 25 million square feet. The hub is designed to accommodate over 150 industries, with particular emphasis on electric and hydrogen vehicle production, renewable energy systems, electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, and semiconductor manufacturing.
Beyond industrial facilities, the mixed-use project will integrate residential and commercial spaces across 335 acres. Planned amenities include hospitals, medical colleges, shopping centers, warehouses, office complexes, and financial institutions.
The project represents a significant economic investment, with expectations to attract approximately $10 billion in total funding. Once operational, projections indicate the hub could contribute between $5-6 billion to the UAE's gross domestic product while creating an estimated 4,000 jobs in the emirate.
"This project will stand at the forefront of the green energy revolution, significantly contributing to the UAE's net-zero ambitions while fostering a self-sustainable future," stated Dr. Darshan Rana. The company emphasized its commitment to sustainable industrialization and clean energy transition.
The development aligns with the UAE's broader economic diversification strategy and environmental goals. The Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone provides the regulatory framework and infrastructure support for the project's implementation.
The hub is expected to serve as an operational base for Rana Group's EV subsidiary, Erisha E Mobility, facilitating expansion into Middle Eastern and African markets while maintaining existing operations in India.
Construction timelines and completion dates were not specified in the announcement, though the company indicated that planning and execution phases are now underway with their partner consortium.
