German zero-emission mobility company Quantron and Chinese autonomous driving systems developer HyperView have agreed to set up a joint venture, Quantron China, selecting contract manufacturer Foxconn to assemble next-generation commercial vehicle platforms.
Headquartered in Shaoxing, the Sino-European joint venture plans to combine vehicle integration, software architectures, and automated driving systems to address commercial vehicle fleet demand across China, Europe, and the Middle East. Foxconn will act as the industrial manufacturing partner for the truck and bus architectures, providing semi-knocked-down (SKD) production lines and industrialised supply chains aimed at lowering manufacturing costs.
The partnership centres on the co-development of the Gen2 platform, which will accommodate both battery-electric and hydrogen-fuel-cell configurations across trucks and buses. The first complete Gen2 vehicle is scheduled for a public debut in the first half of 2027. The venture plans to roll out a validation fleet of 100 zero-emission vehicles to European customers by the end of 2026.
