PURE EV focuses on sustainable electric two-wheeler solutions

PURE EV, a prominent electric two-wheeler manufacturer in India, has reported significant progress in its sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives. The company has successfully integrated a 125 KW solar power system and 500 KWh of Energy Storage Solutions (ESS) with its grid and diesel generator (DG) systems at its Telangana facility. This integration has resulted in a 60% reduction in electricity costs and a 65% decrease in DG fuel expenses compared to the previous fiscal year.

The solar installation has enabled the company to utilize renewable energy for its operations, thereby reducing its dependence on grid electricity. Additionally, the 500 KWh ESS, composed entirely of refurbished batteries collected through a battery exchange program, has contributed to further cost reductions. Customers exchanged older batteries for new, high-performance fifth-generation batteries, and the refurbished units were repurposed for the ESS system. This initiative aligns with PURE EV’s efforts to support a circular economy and promote sustainable practices in EV battery usage.

The integration of the ESS with solar, grid, and DG systems has also led to a 50% reduction in peak load KVA charges, enhancing operational efficiency. PURE EV views this development as a step toward achieving its long-term sustainability objectives while optimizing operational costs.

Dr. Nishanth Dongari, Founder and Managing Director of PURE EV, emphasized the importance of integrating renewable energy solutions into the company’s operations. He noted that the combination of solar power and advanced energy storage technology not only supports environmental goals but also delivers economic advantages by reducing reliance on non-renewable resources.

Looking ahead, PURE EV plans to expand its renewable energy initiatives by FY 2026. The company aims to install an additional 125 KW solar power system and enhance its ESS capacity by another 500 KWh, further advancing its journey toward net zero carbon emissions.

PURE EV is an Indian electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer specializing in two-wheelers. Established with a focus on sustainable mobility, the company has positioned itself as a key player in the EV market, catering to a growing demand for environmentally friendly transportation solutions. PURE EV offers a range of electric scooters and motorcycles designed to provide an affordable and efficient alternative to conventional vehicles.
