Popular Vehicles' Subsidiary to Set Up Four Ather Facilities in Maharashtra
Two of the new facilities will be located in Nagpur, while the remaining two will be in Chandrapur and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.
Popular Vehicles and Services Limited (PVSL) has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Kuttukaran Cars Private Limited, has received four Letters of Intent (LOIs) for establishing Ather 3S facilities in Maharashtra. This marks the company's entry into its third state in partnership with Ather Energy.
Two of the new facilities will be located in Nagpur, while the remaining two will be in Chandrapur and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (formerly Aurangabad). Each facility will include an experience centre, service centre, and warehouse. Operations are scheduled to begin in the second quarter of the financial year.
PVSL already operates Ather facilities in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. According to Naveen Philip, Managing Director of PVSL, this expansion aligns with the company’s efforts to strengthen its electric vehicle portfolio and increase its geographical reach. PVSL also represents brands including Maruti Suzuki, Jaguar Land Rover, Tata Motors, Bharat Benz, Piaggio, and Honda, operating across multiple segments including passenger and commercial vehicles.
The company’s broader network includes 63 showrooms, 136 sales outlets, 146 service centers, and 24 warehouses, spanning Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra.
This move is expected to support PVSL’s ongoing efforts to expand its revenue streams and operations in new regions.
Ather Energy is among the leading players in India's electric two-wheeler market, known for its focus on in-house design, battery technology, and connected vehicle solutions. Its 3S facilities—encompassing Sales, Service, and Spare parts—are central to its customer support and regional expansion strategy. Maharashtra, one of India's largest automotive markets, offers significant potential for EV adoption, aided by supportive state policies and urban demand.
Popular Vehicles and Services Limited, through its diversified dealership model, has positioned itself as a key distribution partner for both traditional and electric vehicle brands. The company’s previous collaborations with Ather in Kerala and Tamil Nadu have contributed to growing Ather’s footprint in South India.
