PMI Electro Mobility has introduced electric 'Mohalla Buses' in Delhi as part of a pilot project aimed at enhancing last-mile connectivity. Saurabh Bhardwaj, Urban Development Minister of Delhi NCT, and Somnath Bharti, Member of Delhi Legislative Assembly, flagged off a Mohalla Bus from Nehru Place Metro Station. Simultaneously, Parmila Tokas, Member of Delhi Legislative Assembly, launched another bus from Vasant Vihar Metro Station.

The initiative introduces 9-meter air-conditioned low-floor electric buses to Delhi's public transport system. These vehicles are designed to improve accessibility in areas previously difficult to reach by conventional buses.

Dr. Aanchal Jain, CEO of PMI Electro Mobility Solutions Pvt. Ltd., stated that the company aims to support Delhi's vision of sustainable public transport. The buses feature various safety measures, including emergency stop buttons, CCTV cameras, accessibility ramps, and fire extinguisher systems.

The pilot project will operate buses from Vasant Vihar and Nehru Place Metro Stations, serving several areas in South Delhi. Women passengers will be allowed to travel for free on these buses.

The 24-seater electric buses are equipped with fast-charging lithium-ion batteries and modern amenities such as a Real-Time Passenger Information System, panic buttons, and a Vehicle Location and Tracking System. It is projected that these zero-emission vehicles will reduce CO2 emissions by over 650 tons in the coming year.

Initial estimates suggest that around 3,000 passengers will use this service daily. The event was attended by government officials and executives from PMI Electro Mobility, marking a new phase in Delhi's public transportation development.
