PM Modi Applauds Auto Inc's Contributions to Green Transition

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hails auto industry's dual role in sustainability and economic surge at SIAM's 65th convention.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the 65th annual convention of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) today, commended the automobile industry for its critical contributions to India's environmental sustainability and economic expansion. He emphasized the sector's leadership in advancing green technologies while driving industrial growth and job creation.  

Speaking at the landmark SIAM event, Modi highlighted the auto sector's accelerated shift toward electric vehicles and alternative fuels. He noted significant investments in R&D and manufacturing for zero-emission technologies, positioning India as an emerging global center for sustainable mobility solutions aligned with national climate commitments.  

Moreover, the Prime Minister detailed the industry's economic impact at the convention, citing its role as a cornerstone of manufacturing, generating direct and indirect employment for millions. He referenced rising export figures and increased foreign capital inflow, underscoring the sector's function as an engine for India's industrial self-reliance and GDP growth.  

Concluding his address to SIAM members, Modi called for strengthened industry-government partnerships. He outlined priorities including policy support for green transitions, development of charging infrastructure, and skill development initiatives to sustain the auto industry's momentum as a key driver of India's sustainable economic future.
