Pioneer reveals smart dashcam range for Indian roads
Pioneer India introduces a new line of AI-powered dashcams tailored for Indian driving conditions, features advanced safety technology and mobile app integration.
Pioneer India, a subsidiary of Pioneer Corporation, Japan, has introduced a new range of dash cameras from its Mobility AI portfolio. These cameras are designed specifically for Indian road conditions and aim to enhance automotive safety and security.
The new VREC Dash Camera series includes four models: VREC-H120SC, VREC-H320SC, VREC-H520DC, and VREC-Z820DC. These devices offer features such as AI Night Vision, ADAS Alerts, and Enhanced Parking Monitoring. They are designed to record high-quality video footage of the road, provide round-the-clock protection, and offer evidence in case of accidents or impacts.
The cameras vary in features and price points, ranging from ₹5,399 for the basic model to ₹23,499 for the premium version. Users can access their dash cameras through Pioneer's mobile app, which allows for browsing recorded videos, creating travelogues, and adjusting camera settings.
Dash cams are compact video cameras mounted in vehicles to continuously record the road ahead and, in some cases, behind or inside the vehicle. Their primary utility lies in providing objective evidence in case of accidents, theft, or vandalism. This footage can be crucial for insurance claims, legal proceedings, or resolving disputes.
Beyond security, dash cams offer additional benefits. They can capture unexpected events or scenic drives, monitor vehicle location and speed, and some advanced models include features like lane departure warnings or forward collision alerts. For fleet managers, dash cams help in tracking driver behavior and improving safety protocols.
