Piaggio Vehicles sells about 26,000 units of electric 3-wheelers in 2023

Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd, the subsidiary of Italian automaker Piaggio & C. SpA, has sold about 26,000 units of its electric three-wheelers this year, PTI reported.
The Indian subsidiary had retailed about 12,000 units last year, Amit Sagar, the company's Executive Vice President, Commercial Vehicles said on Thursday.
Piaggio Vehicles also launched its first three wheeler passenger EV, Ape E-city FX NE Max in Tamil Nadu, priced at Rs 3.46 lakh.
The new Ape E-city FX NE Max has a driving range of 145km (+ 5kms), a 12-inch tyre and improved grade ability among other advancements. This EV range is fully assembled by an all-women team at Piaggio’s Baramati factory. Available as a fixed battery solution, the Apé E-city FX NE Max boasts of superior Italian design legacy with a new and attractive bezel and eye-catching graphics, noted a press release.
The Ape E-city FX NE Max comes with advanced battery performance resulting in a longer range, enhanced earnings, and effective cost of ownership. The vehicle also has a reserve range of up to 5 kms, to combat range anxiety. Piaggio Ape E-city FX NE Max also comes with zero noise and vibrations, ensuring a fatigue-free riding experience for its driver and the utmost comfort for the passenger. To provide better visibility and control while driving, the vehicle’s seat height has also been adjusted. Advanced telematics 2.0 gives drivers better navigation and allows fleet owners to track and manage the fleet with utmost efficiency, the company stated.
