PHINIA Releases 2025 Global Emission Standards Guide for Light-Duty Vehicles

PHINIA Inc., a global automotive systems supplier, has released its 2025/2026 Global Emission Standards Booklet focusing on light-duty vehicles and passenger cars.

The publication represents the continuation of a technical resource first developed by Delphi in 1993, now spanning more than 30 years of industry guidance. This year's edition addresses current, historical, and upcoming emissions requirements across major automotive markets including the European Union, United States, Brazil, Japan, China, South Korea, and India.

The booklet covers regulatory frameworks for passenger cars and light-duty vehicles, including standards for on-board diagnostics, emissions monitoring systems, and reference fuel specifications. The guidance is designed to assist vehicle manufacturers, engine developers, and regulatory bodies in navigating the complex landscape of global emissions compliance.

"This year's focus on light-duty vehicles reflects the growing urgency to reduce the environmental impact of the most widely used vehicle category worldwide," said Todd Anderson, Chief Technology Officer at PHINIA. He noted that the consolidated format aims to help automotive professionals and policy communities accelerate progress toward reduced emissions.

The light-duty vehicle edition joins PHINIA's 2024 booklet covering heavy-duty and off-road vehicles, with both publications available through the company's website.

PHINIA, headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan, employs over 12,500 people across 49 locations in 21 countries. The company develops fuel systems, electrical systems, and aftermarket solutions for commercial and passenger vehicles.
