PHINIA Inc. presented its range of clean combustion technologies at the Bharat Mobility 2025 exhibition in New Delhi, focusing on solutions for compressed natural gas (CNG) and ethanol-powered vehicles. The company showcased direct injection systems designed to reduce emissions in conventional engines.
The company's CNG injection system claims to reduce CO2 emissions by 25% compared to gasoline engines while maintaining compatibility with standard engine systems. This development aligns with India's plan to expand CNG infrastructure coverage by 2032.
Todd Anderson, Chief Technology Officer at PHINIA, said the Indian market provides opportunities for innovation in clean mobility. The company also presented its E100 ethanol injection system, 500-bar gasoline direct injection technology, and hydrogen direct injection solutions at the event.
PHINIA demonstrated fuel delivery modules with integrated controllers and evaporative canisters, designed to meet India's requirements for managing fuel vapor emissions from temperature fluctuations.
Listed on the New York Stock Exchange, PHINIA was formed in 2023 as a spin-off from BorgWarner's fuel systems and aftermarket divisions. The company has been expanding its presence in emerging markets, particularly focusing on alternative fuel technologies.
