Paracoat Products Limited unveiled agro-material reinforced polypropylene composite masterbatch granules at Plast India Expo 2026, running from February 5-10 in New Delhi.
The composite granules utilize agricultural waste from jute, bamboo, wheat, and rice cultivation as bio-fillers, designed to reduce plastic consumption by up to 50 percent. The company reports the material produces 24 percent lower carbon dioxide emissions compared to virgin plastics.
The granules are engineered for compatibility with injection and extrusion manufacturing processes, allowing integration with existing polymer formulations. Manufacturers can adjust bio-filler loading while maintaining mechanical properties, dimensional stability, and production efficiency.
Rajesh Poddar, CEO of Paracoat Products Ltd., described the development as addressing multiple environmental challenges. "By harnessing agricultural residues as bio-fillers in our thermoplastic composites, we are setting new benchmarks for sustainable manufacturing," Poddar said. "This initiative not only cuts carbon emissions but also directly supports India's vision for a circular economy while tackling the pressing issue of air pollution caused by burning agro-waste."
India generates approximately 9.3 million tonnes of plastic waste annually, representing nearly 20 percent of global plastic pollution. Agricultural residue burning contributes to air pollution in the country.
Paracoat Products is incorporating the composite material into its product range, including parcel shelves, door trims, cladding covers, and other automotive and industrial components.
The company, established in 1989, operates as a Tier-1 supplier specializing in noise, vibration, and harshness management solutions for the automotive industry. Paracoat maintains manufacturing facilities in India and Thailand, with a research and development center in Gurugram.
The company holds IATF 16949 and ISO 45001 certifications and partners with original equipment manufacturers globally to provide NVH, thermal, and interior solutions for vehicles.
