Electric vehicle company appoints industry veteran with two decades of experience to lead expansion and brand development initiatives.
OPG Mobility, an Indian electric vehicle manufacturer formerly known as Okaya EV, announced Monday that it has appointed Maharana Ray as President and Chief Growth Officer.
Ray will oversee the company's electric vehicle business, including its Ferrato and OTTOOPG brands, while directing expansion efforts and strategic partnerships.
Ray brings more than 20 years of experience in the automotive, electric mobility, and energy sectors to his new position. He previously served as Vice President at Chetak Electric, a division of Bajaj Auto, where he led network development, strategic planning, and customer experience initiatives. During his tenure there, he helped expand the brand's presence across India.
The new executive has worked in 16 countries and has experience spanning sales, service, parts, channel management, and human resources.
Ray holds a degree from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management in Pune and has completed training at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
In his new role, Ray will focus on accelerating sales growth, identifying revenue opportunities, and expanding the company's distribution and retail network throughout India. He will also work to strengthen brand recognition and drive market expansion efforts.
Anshul Gupta, Co-Founder of OPG Mobility, said the appointment comes as the company enters its next phase of expansion. Ray's experience in mobility and energy sectors will support the company's growth strategy for its electric vehicle businesses, according to Gupta.
Ray said he was drawn to OPG Mobility's mission to develop electric mobility solutions and looks forward to collaborating with leadership to explore growth opportunities and strengthen the company's presence in domestic and international markets.
OPG Mobility operates under multiple brand names. Ferrato produces electric scooters and motorcycles, including models such as the DEFY 22 and Disruptor. OTTOOPG focuses on electric three-wheelers for passenger and cargo transportation. The company also operates MTEKPOWER, which provides battery, inverter, solar, and energy storage solutions.
The company, headquartered in New Delhi, builds on more than 40 years of electronics expertise and positions itself as a provider of electric mobility solutions in India's growing electric vehicle market.
