Ola Electric Launches Same-Day EV Registration and Delivery

Ola Electric has announced #HyperDelivery, a new initiative that enables same-day registration and delivery of its vehicles. The pilot program has started in Bengaluru and will be expanded across India in the coming months, the company said.

Under this initiative, customers can complete their purchase online or at an Ola Electric Store and receive a fully registered vehicle within hours. The company has integrated the registration process into its operations, reducing the time required for vehicle delivery.

Ola Electric has implemented artificial intelligence (AI) to automate several steps in the registration process. By handling registration in-house and removing third-party intermediaries, the company has reduced processing time and improved efficiency.

“We have optimized the registration process using AI and internal automation. #HyperDelivery simplifies vehicle purchase and delivery, ensuring faster processing for customers,” said an Ola Electric spokesperson.

Following its pilot phase in Bengaluru, Ola Electric plans to expand the #HyperDelivery service to multiple cities across India during this quarter.

Ola Electric is an Indian electric vehicle manufacturer focusing on technology and production, including battery cell development. The company operates the Ola Futurefactory and is developing an EV hub in Tamil Nadu, which includes the upcoming Ola Gigafactory. Ola Electric distributes its products through a network of over 4,000 stores and an online platform.

In recent months, Ola Electric has encountered challenges related to vehicle registration processes and financial disputes. Earlier this year, discrepancies arose between the company's reported sales figures and government registration data. In February, Ola Electric reported sales of over 25,000 electric two-wheelers; however, the government's Vahan portal recorded approximately 8,600 registrations for the same period. The company attributed this mismatch to ongoing negotiations with vehicle registration vendors, which led to a temporary backlog in processing registrations.

Concurrently, Ola Electric Technologies Private Limited, a subsidiary of Ola Electric Mobility Limited, faced insolvency petitions from Rosmerta Digital Services and Rosmerta Safety Systems—key providers of vehicle registration services and high-security registration plates. These petitions, filed with the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) in Bengaluru, cited unpaid dues totaling approximately ₹24.5 crore (around $3 million).

As of March 25, 2025, Ola Electric announced that it had settled all outstanding dues with the Rosmerta Group, leading to the withdrawal of the insolvency petitions The company stated that the backlog resulting from the earlier data mismatch had been cleared and that it was addressing the government's request for further information on the matter.

In response to these challenges, Ola Electric has implemented artificial intelligence (AI) to automate several steps in the vehicle registration process. By bringing this process in-house and reducing reliance on external vendors, the company aims to enhance efficiency and minimize delays.
