Oben Electric Expands Retail Network Across India

Oben Electric, an Indian electric motorcycle manufacturer, has expanded its retail footprint by opening 15 new showrooms and service centers in a single day. This marks its entry into Punjab, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Telangana, bringing its total number of showrooms to 35, up from 11 in December 2024.

The company has been consistently growing its network, with a pace of 8–10 showroom launches per month, aiming to establish over 100 locations across 50 cities by FY26. This expansion aligns with the broader shift towards electric mobility in India, particularly in the commuter motorcycle segment, which constitutes 65% of the country’s two-wheeler market.

Oben Electric’s new showrooms include locations in Amritsar, Ahmedabad, Indore, Hyderabad, and Warangal, alongside an expanded presence in Delhi NCR, Maharashtra, Kerala, and Uttar Pradesh. To mark the expansion, the company has introduced a limited-time offer for early customers at new locations.

The company continues to develop EV technology in-house, producing components such as LFP batteries, fast chargers, and vehicle control units. Its latest model, the Oben Rorr EZ, offers a range of 175 km per charge and a top speed of 95 km/h, with prices starting at ₹89,999.

India's electric vehicle industry has seen steady growth, with EV sales accounting for 7.8% of total vehicle sales in FY25. The government's goal is to achieve 30% EV adoption by 2030, though challenges such as affordability, infrastructure limitations, and financing options remain.

Following a Series A funding round, Oben Electric has been growing its retail presence to meet increasing demand for electric motorcycles.
