NueGo Introduces India’s First Electric Sleeper AC Bus for Intercity Travel

NueGo, the electric intercity bus service by GreenCell Mobility, has introduced India’s first electric AC sleeper bus service. The launch marks a step towards sustainable long-distance travel, with operations planned across key routes in the country.

The newly introduced sleeper buses will operate on major intercity routes, including Delhi–Amritsar, Bangalore–Chennai, Hyderabad–Rajahmundry, Chennai–Madurai, Vijayawada–Visakhapatnam, and Bangalore–Madurai. NueGo aims to expand its footprint in the sleeper bus segment while promoting eco-friendly travel solutions.

The sleeper buses come with ergonomic berths featuring backrests, overhead storage, soft-touch interiors, ambient LED lighting, USB charging ports, night reading lamps, berth pockets, and modern sanitation facilities. The design includes an aerodynamically optimized FRP front fascia and a monocoque chassis for improved handling and stability. A weight-optimized GI tubular structure further enhances efficiency.

Safety features include ABS brakes with electronic stability control (ESC), full air suspension with electronically controlled air suspension (ECAS), and a rollover-engineered structure. The buses operate with zero tailpipe emissions and incorporate regenerative braking technology, providing a quieter and smoother travel experience. They have a range of 350 km per charge, extendable to 600 km per day through fast charging.

In addition to sustainability and comfort, NueGo has introduced measures to enhance passenger safety, particularly for women travelers. The service includes a 24x7 helpline, a Pink Seat feature for ticket booking, and clean mid-point stops. The buses are also equipped with security systems such as CCTV surveillance, GPS live tracking, driver breath analyzer tests, and a speed lock set at 80 km/h.

With this launch, NueGo aims to expand its presence in India’s intercity travel sector, offering an alternative to conventional fuel-powered buses while promoting cleaner transportation solutions.
