Norton Reveals Flagship Superbike Design Sketch with Gerry McGovern as Advisor
Norton Motorcycles has released its first official design sketch for a new flagship superbike, developed under creative guidance from Professor Gerry McGovern OBE. Full motorcycle range debuts at EICMA Milan in November.
Norton Motorcycles has unveiled the first official design sketch of an all-new flagship superbike as part of its Resurgence campaign, marking a new chapter for the British manufacturer.
The sketch, produced by Head of Design Simon Skinner, provides an initial look at the motorcycle that will be built at Norton's Solihull facility. It represents the beginning of a new design direction for the company.
Professor Gerry McGovern OBE has been appointed Chief Creative Advisor to Norton while maintaining his role as Chief Creative Officer at Jaguar Land Rover. McGovern has advised the brand's creative and design teams throughout the Resurgence programme.
Discussing his involvement, McGovern noted that motorcycles and cars share fundamental design principles despite their differences. He cited his previous collaboration with TVS Chairman Sudarshan Venu as a factor in accepting the advisory role.
"Norton's rich British heritage made the opportunity compelling," McGovern stated. He described the Resurgence strategy as encompassing both a new design direction and brand identity.
Simon Skinner said working with McGovern has enabled the Norton team to reassess the brand and its products. He described the upcoming range as combining heritage elements with a new direction.
The complete motorcycle range will be revealed at EICMA in Milan later this year, with the flagship superbike leading the launch.
TVS Motor Company, Norton's owner, has invested over £200 million in the brand. Norton's Solihull workforce has expanded by 25% since early 2025 ahead of planned global expansion.
