Norton Motorcycles is refitting its Solihull headquarters to begin production of new flagship motorcycles later this year, backed by more than £200 million investment from owner TVS Motor Company. The British motorcycle manufacturer has increased its workforce by 25% since January 2025 as it prepares to unveil new models at the EICMA exhibition in Milan on November 4, 2025.
The investment represents TVS Motor Company's commitment to Norton's resurgence strategy, positioning the Solihull facility as a global center for motorcycle design and manufacturing. Norton, founded in 1898, was acquired by India's TVS Motor Company in April 2020 following financial difficulties under previous ownership.
The expansion reinforces the West Midlands' position as a motorcycle manufacturing hub in the UK premium motorcycle sector. Norton joins other British manufacturers in maintaining domestic production capabilities while targeting global markets for high-end motorcycles.
TVS Motor Company, India's third-largest motorcycle manufacturer, has used the acquisition to establish a European manufacturing base while preserving Norton's heritage brand identity. The company plans to combine traditional hand-crafted techniques with modern machinery to maintain quality standards.
The new flagship line will introduce updated design elements alongside a revised Norton brand identity. Production preparations include facility upgrades and staff training as the company transitions from its previous limited production model to expanded manufacturing capacity.

The company expects the investment to generate additional employment opportunities and supply chain benefits for UK businesses. Norton's strategy focuses on premium motorcycle exports while maintaining its Solihull headquarters as the primary manufacturing location.
Norton has released preview content across social media platforms ahead of the full product reveal scheduled for the EICMA international motorcycle exhibition. The new models represent the company's first major product launch under TVS ownership since the 2020 acquisition.
