Ahead of the 2024 New York International Auto Show in the US, Nissan Motor Corporation has revealed the first details of its all-new compact Kicks SUV.
The model will be focusing on the pillars of technology, design, versatility, and performance.
Although specific details about these features are yet to be detailed, the emphasis on technology however, suggests that the vehicle will likely incorporate modern connectivity, safety, and driver-assistance technologies to enhance the driving experience.
Inspired by high-end sneakers, the Kicks features a street-smart design that sets it apart from competitors in the segment. This design approach emphasises a combination of style, functionality, and urban appeal to appeal to a wide range of consumers.
For the first time, the Kicks will come with optional Intelligent All-Wheel Drive across all grades. This feature enhances confidence and control in various weather conditions and road surfaces, providing drivers with improved traction and stability.
Interestingly, Kicks models equipped with AWD come with a dedicated "Snow" driving mode, which adjusts the vehicle's systems for optimal performance on slippery surfaces. This includes adjustments to the all-wheel-drive and vehicle dynamic control systems to enhance stability and traction in snow or ice conditions.
All variants of the Kicks are powered by a 2.0-litre inline-four engine producing 141 horsepower and 140 lb-ft of torque when paired with Nissan's latest generation Xtronic transmission.
The Kicks boasts segment-leading ground clearance of 8.4 inches, providing additional capability when navigating rough roads or challenging terrain. This increased ground clearance enhances the vehicle's versatility and off-road capability.
