Nissan India has announced that its Magnite SUV is now fully compatible with E20 fuel, in line with the Government of India’s push towards greener fuels and lower emissions.
Both engines offered on the compact SUV, the more powerful 1.0-litre HR10 turbo-petrol and the entry level 1.0-litre BR10 naturally aspirated petrol are E20 compliant, with the transition taking effect from August 2024 and February 2025 respectively.
Nissan India also stated that all Magnite units, including those already on the road, can run on E20 fuel without significant issues being reported. Nissan confirmed that any potential concerns arising from the use of E20 fuel will be inspected and addressed during regular service visits.
The Magnite serves as Nissan’s entry-level SUV for India as well as several export markets. It competes in the crowded compact SUV segment against the likes of the Renault Kiger, Tata Nexon, and other popular rivals.
