Nissan Motor India inaugurated its first national training centre, the Nissan Academy, at the Alliance JV plant in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The facility aims to upskill dealership and service staff across India, enabling Nissan to deliver superior customer experiences.

The 10,500-square-foot academy, inaugurated by Frank Torres, Divisional Vice President AMIEO & President, Nissan India Operations, is equipped to train over 1,000 technicians annually. The facility focuses on enhancing capabilities in sales, technical maintenance, and body shop services, ensuring high standards of after-sales service across Nissan’s pan-India network.

Designed to provide comprehensive practical training, the Nissan Academy features a modern mechanical workshop for vehicle repair, diagnostics, and aggregate overhauling. It also includes an advanced body shop outfitted with cutting-edge tools and resources for in-depth repair and maintenance training. This initiative underscores Nissan’s dedication to improving dealership teams' skills and elevating customer service quality.

Frank Torres said, “The opening of the Nissan Academy - National Training Centre in Chennai marks a significant step in our commitment to delivering innovation and excellence in customer service to Indian customers. By investing in the development of our dealership teams, we aim to ensure that our customers receive unmatched service quality and experience.” He added that the training facility will support Nissan’s ongoing efforts to drive excellence in customer experience and satisfaction.

The Nissan Academy aligns with the company's broader strategy to strengthen its operations in India, following recent product launches such as the Nissan X-TRAIL and the New Nissan Magnite. These initiatives reflect Nissan’s ‘One Car, One World’ philosophy, emphasizing customer-centric solutions tailored to the Indian market.

Nissan Motor India, incorporated in 2010 is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. Japan, serving both the domestic and export markets with a manufacturing plant and R&D Centre in Chennai. Nissan with its Global Alliance partner Renault has made an investment of $1.8 billion in the Indian economy facilitating over 70,000 employment and skilling opportunities.
