Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. (NMIPL) recorded a 118% year-on-year increase in domestic wholesales for May 2026, delivering 2,948 units to the local market. The performance marks the third consecutive month of domestic growth for the manufacturer in India.
The company also shipped 5,023 units to overseas markets during the month, bringing its total combined wholesale volume to 7,971 units. Local demand was driven by the recent introduction of the Nissan Gravite alongside sustained sales of the Magnite compact SUV, which has seen increased traction via its CNG variants. Company officials stated that the brand is currently preparing for the upcoming global debut of a new model, the Nissan Tekton, as part of an ongoing portfolio expansion.
Incorporated in 2010, Nissan Motor India operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan's Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. The Indian operation serves the domestic market and manages an export business that ships vehicles to 65 international destinations. As of 2025, the subsidiary had reached a cumulative benchmark of 1.2 million vehicle exports from its Indian production base.
