Nissan Motor India announced the commencing of exports for its latest SUV, the Tekton, on Tuesday. The automaker stated that the Renault Duster’s sister model would be heading to South Africa, Bhutan and Nepal. For the initial launch, the company said it has dispatched a total of 1,300 units to the three countries.
Nissan India August 2026 Wholesales: Domestic Sales Up 147%
Nissan also announced its sales figures for the month of August 2026. Overall, the company dispatched a total of 9,350 units across the month, a slight dip of 2% from the 9,541 units it sold in the same month the previous year. Domestic wholesales increased 147% year-on-year to 3,426 units in August 2026, compared to 1,384 units registered in the corresponding period last year, driven by the domestic market rollout of the Tekton alongside sustained volumes for its existing SUV portfolio according to Nissan. International export dispatches across all models accounted for 5,924 units during the month.

Nissan Tekton Export Expansion to New Markets
Nissan stated that the initial shipments to South Africa, Nepal, and Bhutan represent the first phase of the model's overseas rollout, with plans to expand dispatches to additional export destinations as production scales up.
