New Tata Sierra To Launch On November 25, 2025

Tata Motors will announce prices for the much-anticipated Sierra SUV on November 25, 2025. The new Sierra will sit in the heart of the mid-size SUV segment, taking on popular models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Maruti Victoris.   

Sources tell us that the Tata Sierra with internal combustion powertrain will debut first, followed by pure electric variant.

Positioned above the Curvv and below the Harrier in Tata’s SUV line-up prices for the new Tata SUV are expected to start around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom), with top-end variants commanding premium depending on powertrain and trim.

The Sierra is expected to come with three distinct powertrains – petrol, diesel and all-electric. The Sierra petrol will debut Tata’s new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol TGDi engine, which the brand first showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo. This new motor, featuring direct injection technology, promises a strong blend of power and efficiency. Entry-level variants could also feature a naturally aspirated version of the same 1.5-litre unit, tuned for affordability and smoothness. The diesel Sierra, meanwhile, is likely to borrow the 1.5-litre diesel engine from the Curvv.


The Sierra EV will form the third and most futuristic leg of the line-up. While battery and performance details remain under wraps, it is expected to rival the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, MG ZS EV and Mahindra BE 6, with a focus on real-world range, efficiency and connected tech.  Additionally, the Tata Sierra EV will sport a slightly different look than the Sierra petrol and diesel models. 

Inspired by the original Sierra from the 1990s, the new SUV retains some classic design cues — most notably the signature curved rear glass panels, boxy arches, and tall bonnet. However, the look has been thoroughly modernised. It now gets a sharper roofline, shorter overhangs, and a more upright stance. The connected LED DRLs, slim headlamps, and 19-inch alloy wheels (up from the earlier 15-inch size) reinforce its futuristic stance. Overall, the Sierra’s design appears to blend retro charm with Tata’s latest Impact 3.0 design philosophy.

Inside, the Sierra is expected to feature a three-screen layout, similar to what we’ve seen on the Mahindra XEV 9e. This setup could include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch central touchscreen, and a passenger-side display. Other highlights will include a dual-tone dashboard, four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, and wireless charging. On the safety front, one can expect the Sierra to come with six airbags, 360-degree cameras, electronic stability control, and Level 2 ADAS features.    Expect more details on the new Tata Sierra to be revealed closer to launch.
