MYBYK, an Ahmedabad-based active mobility service provider, has launched two electric bicycle models. MYBYK Electric - a consumer bike for connecting citizens and tourists and MYBYK Electric Cargo - a bike for gig workers.
MYBYK, which raised $US 1 million in 2021, is now venturing into the electric mobility space with a completely indigenous and purpose-built electric bicycle that it has developed in-house.
Arjit Soni, Founder & CEO of MYBYK said, “With MYBYK Electric, we are trying to give users a unique combination of Health + Commute + Convenience. Our electric bicycles offer users all the advantages of a bicycle which one can pedal for health & leisure as well as that of a low-speed electric scooter which one can throttle for commute purposes."
He added that for the adventurous ones, they had the powerpedal mode which assists the user and gives a boost when they pedal, reducing their effort by up to 80%.
Shreyansh Shah, Associate Director – Strategic Alliances, MYBYK said that their e-cycles offered the dual benefit of an e-scooter and a pedal cycle and will be offered at almost 50% of the rental cost compared to the other low-speed e-scooter service providers thereby bringing down the cost of first & last mile connectivity as well as last-mile delivery.
The MYBYK Electric with PowerPedal is India’s first consumer electric bike designed for utility, the press release stated. The 'active' electric mobility firm, is now also looking to electrify last-mile delivery with its MYBYK Electric Cargo variant.
MYBYK is exploring opportunities to partner with new-age companies and is open to collaborating with delivery partners for their Electric Cargo bicycles.
