Samvardhana Motherson International Limited has informed the stock exhanges that the Ontario Ministry of Finance has consented to the dissolution of Yachiyo of Ontario MFG., Inc. (Yachiyo Canada), an indirect subsidiary of the company. The dissolution took effect on October 14, 2026, and Yachiyo Canada has been removed from Ontario's Register of Companies.

Samvardhana Motherson acquired Yachiyo Canada on March 26, 2024, as part of its acquisition of Motherson Yachiyo Automotive Systems Co., Ltd. The subsidiary was not carrying out any business or operations. Its sole shareholder approved the dissolution and filed Articles of Dissolution with the Ontario Business Registry.

In the financial year 2025-26, Yachiyo Canada reported income of INR 1.5 million and a net worth of INR 1.2 million. The company described its contribution to consolidated revenue and consolidated net worth as negligible, or 0%. It said the dissolution has no impact on the consolidated net worth of Samvardhana Motherson.

Samvardhana Motherson announced in 2023 that it would take an 81% stake in the four-wheeler business of Yachiyo Industry Co., a Tokyo-listed subsidiary of Honda Motor. Yachiyo's two-wheeler business was to be transferred to Honda before the deal. Honda was to keep the remaining 19%. Yachiyo's 4W business supplies Honda with sunroofs and fuel tanks at its manufacturing locations. The deal also took Motherson into exterior resin parts such as bumpers and rear slide windows for pickup trucks. The Japanese entity was renamed Motherson Yachiyo Automotive Systems Co., Ltd. effective October 1, 2024.
