MoRTH and Montra Electric Sign Agreement for Delhi-NCR Fleet Replacement Scheme
Separate commitments from e-MHCV and e-SCV divisions target emission reductions under NCR planning board framework.
Montra Electric has signed two separate MoU's with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to participate in a structured fleet modernization program across the Delhi-National Capital Region. The agreements, finalized individually by the company’s medium and heavy commercial vehicle and small commercial vehicle divisions, align with the central government's infrastructure support scheme executed under the National Capital Region Planning Board policy.
The regional framework is designed to incentivize transport operators to phase out older, high-emission diesel commercial trucks and buses currently operating within the national capital boundaries. By formalizing these agreements, the commercial vehicle manufacturer intends to provide localized zero-emission replacement options for logistics operators and corporate fleet managers transitioning away from legacy internal combustion engine vehicles.
The policy framework seeks to address ongoing urban air quality degradation in the capital corridor by offering structured asset-replacement incentives for regional freight corridors.
