Montra Electric to launch new commercial EVs at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

Montra Electric, the electric vehicle brand of the Murugappa Group, is set to unveil two new electric commercial vehicles at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The lineup includes an electric small commercial vehicle (e-SCV) and the Electric 3W Super Cargo, aimed at enhancing mid-to-last-mile urban cargo solutions.

The e-SCV marks Montra Electric's entry into the electric small commercial vehicle segment. Designed to meet the evolving needs of the Indian logistics sector, the vehicle has been developed after extensive research and testing at the Ponneri plant in Chennai. The company has focused on addressing market gaps and customer requirements to ensure the e-SCV stands out in terms of performance, design, and durability.

The Electric 3W Super Cargo, tailored for fleet businesses and individual operators, is expected to offer operational cost advantages and efficient asset utilization. This vehicle builds on the success of Montra Electric's existing three-wheeler, the Super Auto, which has seen over 8,000 units on the road and the establishment of 85 showrooms across India since its launch.

Additionally, Montra Electric will showcase the Rhino, India’s first electric heavy truck trailer, at the expo. The Rhino has already covered more than 5 million kilometers in trials with various customers and is positioned as a significant innovation in the heavy commercial vehicle segment.

Montra Electric operates as part of the INR 779 billion Murugappa Group and is organized into four business verticals: last-mile mobility, small commercial vehicles, heavy commercial vehicles, and electric tractors. The company aims to provide clean and efficient mobility solutions for goods and passenger transportation, aligning with the increasing demand for sustainable transportation options in India.

The official launch of the e-SCV and the Electric 3W Super Cargo will take place on January 17, 2025, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo.
