Mohammed Majed Ali appointed Head of Customer Care at Jawa Motorcycles
The company recently appointed the head of Lamborghini India, Sharad Agarwal, as the Chief Business Officer at Classic Legends.
Mohammed Majed Ali has been appointed as the Head of Customer Care at Jawa, Yezdi and BSA Motorcycles. He announced on LinkedIn that he had moved on to Jawa | Yezdi | BSA Motorcycles as Head Customer Care ( Sales & Aftersales). Ali served as Head of customer care at Skoda Auto Volkswagen India, and before that, as the Regional Manager of After Sales at Audi India.
His appointment comes at a time when the company is seeing new hiring at the top management level, interestingly, again from the VW stable. The company recently appointed the head of Lamborghini India, Sharad Agarwal, as the Chief Business Officer at Classic Legends.
Jawa, Yezdi and BSA Motorcycles are owned by Classic Legends, which owns a 60% stake in the company. Mahindra & Mahindra backed Classic Legends had acquired these iconic brands and successfully revived them.
Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) announced on December 13, 2023, that, it will infuse Rs 875 crore into Classic Legends Pvt Ltd (CLPL) in collaboration with external investors. According to a regulatory filing, Eternal investors and M&M will contribute Rs 350 crore and Rs 525 crore, respectively, over the next 2-3 years to strengthen the business.
In line with the strategy for the two-wheeler business, the Company through CLPL had reintroduced the iconic brand 'Jawa' to the Indian market in the Financial Year 2019, with the launch of new range of JAWA motorcycles - Jawa and Jawa FortyTwo.
In FY22 it gave rebirth to another classic brand 'Yezdi' with three new models at the same time – Yezdi Adventure, Yezdi Scrambler and Yezdi Roadster and
During FY23, 42 Bobber motorcycle was introduced in Indian market and in addition, CLPL forayed into UK and European market by introducing the iconic British brand BSA.
The company has benefitted by using its manufacturing facility at Pithampur plant and R&D facility for two wheelers of CLPL. The two wheeler business has been able to utilise the expertise of the company for manufacturing, sourcing, etc.
