M&M sells 41,424 SUVs in December 2024, sales grow 18%
The homegrown automaker continues to witness strong demand for popular SUV models such as the Scorpio Classic, XUV 3XO and the recently-launched Thar Roxx.
Homegrown automaker Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) registered cumulative domestic sales of 41,424 units in December 2024. Led by a strong demand for some of its popular models such as the Scorpio Classic, XUV 3XO and the rencently-launched Thar Roxx, the company recorded a year-on-year (YoY) growth rate of 18%.
In the January-December 2024 period, M&M clocked overall sales of 402,360 units, thereby recording a 21% YoY growth over CY23's 333,777 units sold in the domestic market. While the Mahindra Thar Roxx garnered a record 1.76 lakh bookings within an hour of the commencement of online bookings in October 2024, Mahindra's five-door version of the popular Thar SUV also emerged winner of the coveted Autocar India 'Car of the Year' 2025 award.
According to Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M, "We sold 41,424 SUVs in December 2024, a growth of 18%. The year ended on a high as we became the only Indian automotive company to attain the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) world leader status with the auto sector. The DJSI ranking is one of the most respected global benchmarks for ESG performance, covering over 13,000 companies across various industries and we are ranked first among all global auto OEMs."
