Michelin Opens Four New Tyre And Services Stores In Chennai
Michelin has expanded its Chennai retail network with four new Tyre and Services stores across Gopalapuram, Adyar, Tambaram-Selaiyur and Maduravoyal.
Michelin India has opened four new Michelin Tyre and Services (MTS) outlets in Chennai as part of an expansion of its retail network. The stores are located in Gopalapuram, Adyar, Tambaram-Selaiyur and Maduravoyal.
The outlets have been established in partnership with Lal Enterprises, RR Tyres, Rao Tyres and Lal Tyre Centre, respectively. The stores feature dedicated tyre display areas, multiple service bays, equipment for tyre-related services and customer lounges, following Michelin’s global retail format.
Four Outlets Cover Key Chennai Corridors
The Gopalapuram outlet, operated in partnership with Lal Enterprises, is positioned to serve central Chennai’s business and residential areas. Lal Enterprises has been operating in the tyre industry since 1987.
The Adyar store, in partnership with RR Tyres, caters to areas including Besant Nagar, Thiruvanmiyur, the East Coast Road (ECR) and Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) corridors. RR Tyres has 36 years of industry experience, according to Michelin.
The Tambaram-Selaiyur outlet has been opened with Rao Tyres, which operates three outlets in Chennai and has partnered with Michelin for more than 20 years. The fourth store, in Maduravoyal, is operated with Lal Tyre Centre and has connectivity to the Chennai Bypass and western Chennai’s industrial and commercial areas.
Expansion Coincides With Primacy 5 Rollout
The new outlets come alongside Michelin’s recent launch of its made-in-India Primacy 5 tyre range. The company said the tyre has been developed and manufactured in India for local road conditions.
Commenting on the expansion, Shantanu Deshpande, managing director, Michelin India, said, “The launch of four Michelin Tyre Service stores in a single city reflects the strength of this opportunity and our commitment to bringing world-class mobility solutions closer to our customers.”
Michelin said Chennai is both an important consumer market and a manufacturing base for its India operations. The company also cited increasing premium vehicle ownership and demand for organised automotive service centres as factors supporting its retail expansion in the city.
