MG ZS EV crosses 10,000 sales in India

MG Motor, a British automotive brand owned by China's SAIC, has announced that the MG ZS EV has crossed the 10,000 sales mark in India ever since its launch in January 2020.

News of the ZS EV sales milestone comes just one month after the company set its sights on achieving a total sales target of 100,000 units in CY2023. The carmaker also anticipates the Indian EV market to cross 1.5 lakh units per annum in CY2023, of which MG India wants to corner a 15 to 20% share with its latest entrant in the market, the Comet EV.

The ZS EV is currently available in 2 variants (Excite and Exclusive), and is priced at Rs 23.3 lakh and 27.2 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. The ZS gets a 50.3kWh battery pack, which offers a claimed range of up to 461km (as per ICAT) and the company also claims that the EV can sprint from 0-100kph in 8.5sec. Additionally, MG Charge Initiative - an initiative by MG India, aims to install 1,000 AC fast chargers within community spaces across India in 1000 days to strengthen the EV charging infrastructure. MG India will also install an AC fast charger free of cost at the home or office of ZS EV owners.
