MG Windsor becomes India’s best-selling electric car in October 2024
JSW MG Motor's MG Windsor leads India’s EV market with 3,116 units sold in October 2024, contributing to 30% of total passenger electric vehicle sales and driving a 31% year-on-year growth for the company.
JSW MG Motor India recorded strong sales for its recently launched MG Windsor in October 2024, with 3,116 units sold. This figure accounted for nearly 30% of the total passenger electric vehicle sales in the country during the month.
The company saw a 31% year-on-year growth in its overall sales, with a total of 7,045 units sold in October 2024, marking the highest sales volume since the company’s inception. A significant portion of this growth came from the company’s New Energy Vehicle (NEV) portfolio, which contributed to 70% of total sales in October. This indicates a growing customer preference for electric vehicles as part of JSW MG Motor's ongoing focus on sustainable mobility solutions.
The MG Windsor combines the practicality of an SUV with the comfort of a sedan. Designed with an aerodynamic structure, it features spacious interiors, a range of safety features, smart connectivity options, and various advanced technologies. Built on a ‘Pure EV Platform,’ the Windsor offers a certified range of 332 km on a single charge. Priced starting at INR 13,49,800 (Ex-Showroom), the Windsor is also available under a Battery as a Service (BaaS) program at INR 9.99 lakhs, with a battery rental rate of INR 3.5 per kilometer.
In terms of features, the MG Windsor includes Aero Lounge seats that recline up to 135° for added comfort. It also offers a large 604-litre boot space and an IP67-certified 38kWh battery for enhanced durability and safety. With four driving modes—Eco+, Eco, Normal, and Sport—the vehicle provides options suited to various driving needs. Additionally, the Windsor’s 2700 mm wheelbase and Infinity View Glass Roof contribute to a spacious and open interior design.
The vehicle’s MG-Jio Innovative Connectivity Platform (ICP) brings smart connectivity options, with over 100 AI-powered voice commands, allowing drivers to control key functions and access infotainment features in multiple Indian languages. Its 15.6-inch Grandview Touch Display offers navigation and entertainment options, integrating with the car’s smart systems. With more than 80 connected features, including real-time navigation, remote vehicle control, and safety alerts, the MG Windsor enhances the driving experience with convenient and accessible in-car technology.
The MG Windsor is available in three variants—Excite, Exclusive, and Essence—and four color options: Starburst Black, Pearl White, Clay Beige, and Turquoise Green.
